YOU’RE INVITED!

All boys who are at least 11 years old or who have completed 5th grade are invited to join Boy Scouts. We are an active scout troop in the Plymouth / Canton area and are looking for new scouts to join our troop. Scouting is a great opportunity to develop leadership and try new things like archery, camping, canoeing, climbing, sailing, hiking, and much, much more!

If it’s fun and adventurous, it’s scouting!

MEETINGS: Our meetings are held on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 – 8:30 pm at the Plymouth First United Methodist Church, our charter organization. The church is located on North Territorial between Beck and Sheldon Roads.

The last Wednesday of the Month is reserved for the Patrol Leadership Committee meetings, Parent Meetings and Troop Committee Meetings.  Only Youth and Adult Leadership attends these meetings.
In keeping with scouting’s goal of promoting leadership and skill building, all meetings are led by the scouts themselves.Meeting activities include working on scout skills like first aid, citizenship, cooking, and camping as well as working towards rank advancement and merit badges.  The scouts also use this time to plan outings.

CAMPING: During the year, we go on four or five camping trips including the District Fall Camporee, Fall camping at Munhacke, the Winter District Camporee, and a Spring camping activity.

We use the D-BAR-A Scout Ranchfacilities in Metamora, MI and BSACamp Munhacke near Pinckney.

Our Summer Camp program is at Cole Canoe Base on the Rifle River near Alger, MI and offers a program filled with fun and variety. This is a great opportunity for new scouts to transition into scouting and earn their first merit badges.

HIGH ADVENTURE: Our troop has participated in all three BSA National High Adventure programs.

Backpacking at Philmont Scout Ranchin Cimarron, NM

Coral reef sailing at Florida Sea Base in the Florida Keys

Canoed over 100 miles into the Boundry Waters Area at Northern Tier High Adventure Base in Ely, MN.

Some other high adventure trips include backpacking at Pictured RocksNational Lakeshore in Michigan’s UP, exploring the Blue Springs Cavern, and annual whitewater rafting the Youghigheny River in Ohiopyle State Park, PA.
